OUR VISION
We believe that creativity flourishes when people have opportunities to connect, collaborate and create together. THE BLKOUT exists to champion Black creativity while creating meaningful opportunities for artists, creative entrepreneurs and cultural organisations to build relationships, discover new work and imagine new possibilities. More than a series of events, our ambition is to create a platform that strengthens connections across London's creative landscape and contributes to a more sustainable future for Black-led creativity.
WHY THE BLKOUT?
Black creativity has always shaped culture. Yet too often, artists, entrepreneurs and cultural organisations are working in isolation, missing opportunities to meet collaborators, supporters and decision-makers. THE BLKOUT is being created to bring those worlds together. Through carefully curated cultural experiences, we hope to create spaces where ideas are shared, relationships are built and new opportunities emerge.

Every edition of THE BLKOUT will be thoughtfully curated around a simple belief:

Rather than following a fixed formula, each programme will evolve in response to artists, audiences and partnerships, creating new ways to experience Black creativity through culture, conversation and community.
Every gathering will be different.
The purpose will remain the same:
To celebrate creativity.
To encourage collaboration.
To create opportunity.
